The interest in Management of employees in crisis in June remained approximately on the same level as in May. The global health and economic crises continue no matter the partial economy reopenings globally. This topic will be equally important after the pandemic as the employees are the most valuable asset of any organization. [403] Leadership is the key during the crisis by providing focus and clear direction to the organization during crisis; modeling the behavior you want from employees; utilizing resources efficiently; and taking lessons learned and applying to the future. [404][259] To accelerate the road to recovery, leaders need to instill a spirit of purpose, self-expression, experimentation, and optimism.[178][405]

Help employees manage their feelings on returning to work by: planning for strong and surprising emotions (re-initiate frequent one-on-ones and team meetings to ask how team members are feeling); creating a detailed process for the mechanics of reopening; and reaping the lessons of the crisis (ask "what are we learning?", focus only on what warrants discussion; establish a culture of reflection; create more accountability; and celebrate wins).

[406][407] Be a people-focused company. “We regularly offer wellness resources, including our Employee Assistance Program, which provides professional counseling to employees and their families. We have additional resources on our Intranet to help employees and their families cope with the current pandemic. It’s crucial to remain vigilant in looking out for our fellow employees and provide help when needed.” [191] To reinvent the organizations for recovery and speed in the post-COVID-19 era: speed up and delegate decision making; step up execution excellence; cultivate extraordinary partnerships; flatten the structure; unleash nimble, empowered teams; make hybrid work, work; field tomorrow’s leaders today; learn how to learn; and rethink the role of CEOs and leaders.
