The data shows that the discussion about future with predictions dropped 55% in June from May. In April everybody was busy with the transition/ survival and not discussing much about the future as we all hoped the pandemic will go away in a month or so. In May the community was getting focused on the future as we all realized that the pandemic is here to stay, and now in June the future has somehow become the present - due to accelerated changes we started planning and preparing for the post-pandemic built environment and not only speculating how and what will happen. The future is here. Hence, all the strategies and planning for the post-pandemic era in built environment are distributed in other categories.

The community continues to discuss the future of work [370][159] and workplace [366], living, domestic and urban landscape. [590][513] “A legacy of the coronavirus may be more work satisfaction, more ethical leadership and a deeper sense of trust.” [597] “This is also, in a way, a kind of dress rehearsal for climate change. We’re going to have huge disruptions in the future.” [513] . Architects and designers discuss the future of architecture (“build bunkers or work elsewhere”) [598][599]. The community discusses the future of real estate and proptech (“…investor sentiment will inevitably be more cautious in the short-term…. “Make hay while the sun shines, but sharpen your tools while it’s raining…. In the long term, we remain bullish about technology adoption in real estate.”) [473]. Overall the AEC community seems to be optimistic about the future no matter the shape of recovery (V or W).
