Program Topics:
Digitalization—generative AI, computer vision, machine learning, foundation models, robotics, and more—is transforming how work will be done across the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry. In the next five years, we anticipate significant changes, such as:
- Enhanced Visualization: More compelling, on-demand visual tools will accelerate decision-making.
- Integrated Information: Seamless data integration will eliminate inefficiencies caused by information silos, enabling optimization across disciplines and project phases.
- Advanced Sensing: Consistent and accurate data from physical and digital processes will lead to productivity improvements through recognizing productive patterns of work.
- Increased Automation: Shortened cycle times will allow faster exploration of design alternatives and streamline the path from design to fabrication.
Many owners, architects, engineers, and builders are already advancing toward the vision of delivering higher-performing facilities through digital innovation.
The 2025 CIFE Summer Program, held September 22–23 on the Stanford University campus, will showcase how professionals across AECO roles are already working differently—and more effectively—through digitalization. Speakers, from project engineers to top executives, will share real-world examples of current practices and offer insights into how their roles and results are expected to evolve in the foreseeable future. Join us to gain perspective on how digital transformation is reshaping the way we plan, design, and build.
Check out our Keynote Speakers:
Allison Okamura The Richard W. Weiland Professor of Engineering at Stanford University in the mechanical engineering department. Professor Okamura's research develops the principles and tools needed to realize advanced robotic and human-machine systems.
Nicholas Bloom The William Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of SIEPR, and the Co-Director of the Productivity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses on management practices and uncertainty. He previously worked at the UK Treasury and McKinsey & Company. He is known for his research on innovation, productivity, and the impact of management practices on corporate performance, contributing to understanding the dynamics of uncertainty and business strategy in the modern economy.
