AbstractThis report describes research examining the potential utility to the construction industry of information contained in the SARA Database, also known as the toxic release inventory (TRI). This nationwide computerized database, which quantifies releases of hazardous chemicals from industries, was considered a possible source of information regarding successful strategies for designing industrial facilities to minimize the emission to the atmosphere of hazardous chemicals.
